This showed how messed up we are as people and why we have unreal expectations about how we look. The media makes our self-image and self-esteem much worse because they show us what “beauty” is. Pictures from the media, give us expectations of ourselves and what makes us beautiful. It is absurd because they spend so much time doing her hair and makeup that she wasn’t herself anymore and she didn’t look the same at all. She hid behind all the makeup that is supposed to make people beautiful when it is really making them fake. We have pressure to look like the models and they aren’t even what we see in the pictures. They used a computer and photo editor to change her face and fix everything that was wrong with it. This commercial should show people that they don’t need to look like the models and everyone because they are all fake. At first you see a plain, sad woman on the screen. Personally I thought she was a mother or something who was being interviewed. She looked very depressed and not that attractive. Then she had her make-up done and hair done. They took pictures of her and changed them. The picture wasn’t even of her or real. This gives everyone a bad image of themselves because they think they need to look like this. The media should not be doing this because it makes everyone feel worse about themselves and have all they care about be what they look like. What should matter is how people are on the inside. True beauty comes from within, not what is on the outside. So stop worrying about what you think is wrong with your face, how skinny you are, what your nails look like, and if your hair is perfect or not. The word even says it itself beautiful, BeYOUtiful. So be you. Focus on being beautiful on the inside, because that is what really matters. The problem with the world is we believe all that matters is what you look like but its not. If you focus on being a good person you will have a much better, happier life than having to worry about what you look like and the unrealistic image that is given to you by the media.
